Hosptial Shmosmital

So...today has not been the best of days for this mommy...I could NOT sleep last night--I was up almost evey hour (despite the nurses attempt of two ambien to help my situation) I finally threw in the towel at 4 am and pulled out the laptop and did some Christmas shopping. Being here is definately beginning to take its toll on me...I love every morning when Tj brings Thomas to me--but its almost bittersweet b/c I know they will have to leave as quickly as they came...Thomas IS THE HILIGHT of my day...once that's over--I pretty much hit rock bottom. I can't help but cry every time they leave and I know poor monkey is totally confused. I know this is the best place we can be--but I didn't realize just how hard it would be to be away from my little family for so long. Tj has been soooo great at being "Mr. Mom"...Thomas has become permanently attached to him--I am sure it's just all the changes making him extra clingy. When I called this morning TJ was folding laundry and feeding Thomas--who knew he was capable--hee, hee! Please say a prayer for mommy and Finley...we are ready to go HOME!

Texas Ranch Hand

Happy 2nd Birthday to my little Texas cutie! He LOVES his new Gator...he is such a big helper with Nana and his daddy in the garden--this birthday present will sure come in handy! I can't believe how fast the last two years have gone--he is certainly not a baby anymore!

So...today has been a very eventful day...Thomas started his new school and has to wear uniforms (which I LOVE b/c less planning on my end :-)...I was a little anxious about the day b/c I know how my little monkey does with change (NOT GOOD)--he did have a rough start--but I get to watch him as much as I want via the internet--so much to my surprise--by the time I had arrived at the office he was playing and happy (PHEW).

On another note--Miss Finley has started to act up a little...I had to go to the dr. today b/c I have had contractions ranging from every 5-25 min's for two days now (not good at 26 wks preg-o)...my doc isn't happy b/c while I was there they were only about 7 min's apart for the whole hour and a half...so--I had to get a Progesterone shot (to stop the contractions) and will have to go every Monday until 34 wks to get these. I am also grounded from most anything fun (my poor hubby). I am on bedrest right now--but as soon as the Prog. kicks in and we can get the contractions to stop I will be able to drive, work, etc. unless they pick back up--then we will have to have a new plan of action. As of today Finley weighs 2lbs and looks just like her brother :-) We just need her to stay in the oven a little longer!!!

Luckily my mom is here making dinner, hubby is taking care of Tomahawk and I have a job that can be done from the couch. Praying the drugs kick in and I can be back to the land of the living by tomorrow--why must my babies always scare me sooo much :-)

So--this picture is a month old and I am the worst blogger ever--but--at least I am still making an effort :-) I must say that Thomas' FIRST HOSPITAL STAY (which was 4 nights long...agh) was a very trying time for me as a mommy! It's very hard to see your baby sick and even harder to explain to a toddler that he can't keep pulling out his IV! The good news is that at the time I am writing his blog he probably doesn't even remember any of this (mean while I am still having nightmares). Here's to having a hospital free run of 22 months!!! My wish is NO MORE HOSPITALS until Miss Finley arrives :-)

Yosemite

We broke the "Dr.'s orders" and decided to go on our trip to Yosemite--I am glad we did :-) Tj took extra good care of me and Miss Finley and Thomas was exceptionally good for us!!! We drove over 800 miles in 5 days (and had 2 3hour plane rides)--we saw some BEAUTIFUL scenery and had a great time vacationing! Thomas got car sick in the mountains...guess he is going to take after his mommy! Thank goodness for dramamine--it was a lifesaver on our way back down the mountain two days later!!! On our trip we taught Thomas his name--he says "I'm Momaaaas," too cute!!!

Mother's Day 2009

This was my best Mothers Day yet...Tj and Thomas gave me 5 roses: 3 white from my boys (Trip, Jaxon and Thomas) and two red from my girls (Ava and ?)...yeah--Tj is convinced our next bambino is a girl...he's so confident that he even bet me $100! I have news for him--mom's are better at this game than dads--Tj--get ready for BOY #4 :-). They also fed me breakfast in bed (donuts and starbucks--Yuh-me!!!) and then we had a wonderful day...we went to church, had lunch with Nina & Papa at Buca Di Beppo--then took a family nap (my FAVORITE part) and last we got ice cream at Coldstone and took Thomas to Market Street to play in the water sprayer thingys and run around in the park...I am truly one lucky mama!

Sweet Thomas

Thomas has suddenly become very attached to his mommy...dropping him off at daycare has been such a nightmare the past two weeks...at church Sunday he looked at me--pouched out his lip and said "no mama" when i tried to put him in his Sunday school class...I wonder if this is just a stage? I love that he wants ME--but--it makes leaving him soooo hard! No one ever said being a working mom would rip your heart out EVERY SINGLE DAY! I love you little Tomahawk!

I had a BLAST in Vegas but am STILL paying for it...3 days in sin city is waaaay too much for my old booty!

Reading is so much FUN!

Thomas has all of the sudden caught the "reading bug"--the other night Tj came into his room (I was "organizing toys") and layed down on the floor to read his book...Thomas saw him laying there and grabbed one of his books and layed down next to TJ and handed him HIS book--daddy dropped the book he was reading and read Thomas his book...he is at such a fun, curious age! I LOVE IT! (Look at his face...he is sooooooooooo into this book--ha!)!

What Fairy Tales Are Made Of

My 6 year wedding anniversary was on Sunday...where has the time gone? I feel so lucky to have the life I have...God truly made TJ just for me! We have been through so much in the 17 years we have known each other--I look back and don't know how I would have made it to where I am today without his love and support! I truly feel like I have the life that fairy tales are made of...thank you baby for loving me for ME!

Thomas meets Santa!

So...Thomas FINALLY got to meet Jolly old SANTA! Actually--he was not too fond of this Santa guy (I can't say I was very impressed either--my mom and I swear he smelled like alcohol--and he didn't even ask him what he wanted for Christmas...bah-hum-bug). Merry Christmas!

Christmas Party 2008

So...I did it...I went to Tj's Christmas party--I just left that sick baby at home and HAD FUN in my sassy new dress--hee, hee! We have missed the past two years of his xmas party b/c Tj has been sick--it's like we are cursed at this time every year! So...mother in law kept the sicky baby--and we went to the party and had a GREAT time! I danced and sang (i think i sang louder than the singers that were paid to be there--but--you all know me--I like to shine :-)...I ate WAY too much...drank a little too much and enjoyed a fabulous night of sleep at the Post Oak Hilton...it's fun to not be in "mommy mode" every now and then...I joked to Tj when we were getting ready that this is kind of like the Grammys for me...all the prep work to look glamorous for one night--I truly LOVE to get "fancy-d up"...HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

What am I THANKFUL for? My little TURKEY of course!

So...getting no sleep for pretty much the past year has been hard...BUT--when I wake up to this smile every day I feel like I should pinch myself...IS HE REALLY MINE TO KEEP? This Thanksgiving...THIS is what I AM THANKFUL FOR!

Megan gave Thomas these stackable boxes for his birthday--let me tell you--if you have a baby between 9mons and 2years old--BUY THEM...we have had hours of daily fun with these silly boxes! Thomas had his hearing test (follow up after his tubes) Tuesday--he did such a GREAT job! I am a BIG fan of tubes--he is sooo much better! I love this picture....

Pumpkin Patch

So--we took Thomas to the pumpkin patch and he LOVED the pumpkins!!! He did NOT however love the cute hat I bought him (hence the tears)! He also LOVES to wear his daddys sunglasses! It's so fun to watch him discover new things--like the pumpkins! We put him on the pumpkin pile and he went crazy--crawling all over them and babbling and pointing to all the different ones! I will be mailing out the cute pumpkin pics--so that's why I didn't post them. This past weekend he started "talking" and he hasn't stopped...he points at things and babbles (we can't understand what he is saying--but boy is he serious about whatever it is he is talking about)! Happy FALL!!!

My baby turns 1!

Where has the last year gone? My baby Thomas is 1 year old today!!! I had mixed emotions this morning when I woke up...he is still my baby--but--SUCH A BIG BOY! I am so lucky that he still actually loves to be rocked and on a good day he will sit in my lap and let me sing to him! He has brought unmeasureable happiness to my life...he reminds me everyday of the miracle of life...AND how precious each moment with him is! Usually in the mornings I am a total zombie--when I went into his room this morning I was singing "happy birthday" and taking pictures of him...he was laughing and looking totally confused! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY LITTLE MONKEY!!!!

Thomas has his first surgery!

So...Thomas got tubes on Friday at Texas Childrens...he was such a little trooper! He was pretty cranky coming out of the surgery (more morophene PLEASE)...but after about an hour seemed to be feeling better! It's so hard as a mom to see your baby in pain...I am so thankful for each day that I am blessed to have him in my life! He makes every day seem like Christmas (even when he doesn't sleep but 2 or 3 hours at night--hee, hee).

This weekend Thomas got to meet Stella (and hang with his girl Berkeley and buddy, Brady)...what a fun time it was to be with my favorite girlfriends and all of our kiddos--who would have known that we would be such good mommy's (hee, hee). Stella (the newest baby doll) is absolutely precious...I am soooo glad I finally got to hold that sweet baby girl! Megan is such a natural! And Bethany--she makes two look like a walk in the park...she gives me hope that having more than one is totally do-able! Amanda had her baby shower this weekend and looks soooo amazing--you would never know she is due any day! I LOVE all these babies!!!
